Amazon vendors lose up to 10% of their sales due to chargebacks and shortage claims!

If goods "disappear" on the way to the warehouse, are "overlooked" in the incoming goods department, or the goods were "actually" not shipped, Amazon promptly asserts invoice reductions through so-called shortage claims! So even if the goods have arrived at Amazon, in our experience, vendors can lose up to 10 percent of their sales through this process! The subsequent investigation of causes and the management of objections are usually complex and intransparent - and thus often fall by the wayside.

Amazon Vendor Central Experience:

Traditionally, the company's sales manager monitors the shortage claims in the Vendor Central and opens a case as soon as unjustified reductions are received. Usually, this is done by requesting a "POD" (proof of delivery) from the shipping company, which is then attached as proof.

Even this first step has to be completed manually by the company and can be very time consuming depending on the carrier. Particularly noteworthy is the often high number of shortage claims that companies achieve with Vendor Central. This is because Amazon promptly claims shortages due to its standardized processes, even if the goods reappear in a later process step and the claim is corrected.

Keeping track of this, constantly opening disputes, and observing deadlines is a frustrating task for company employees with Vendor Central.
